Teen girl booted unconscious outside school as 'woman cheers on attacker'

A teenage girl was booted unconscious outside a school as footage captured a woman appearing to cheer on her attacker.

The incident, which took place near Kirkcaldy High School in Fife, Scotland, on Friday March 3, is the latest in a sickening series of violent incidents involving kids in Scotland.

A disturbing clip showing the full extent of the attack has since gone viral, as the Record repeatedly calls on social media giants to crack down on harmful content shared online as part of the 'Our Kids, Our Future' campaign.

The video, which has been seen by the Mirror's sister title the Daily Record, shows the victim lying on the ground while her attacker punches and kicks her as a crowd of pupils film the scene on their phones. A woman, understood to be a relative of the attacker, can be seen and heard instructing the culprit to carry out the abuse.

She is heard referring to one the victim as "it" and encourages the attacker to "kick its c**t in."

She says: "Pull its hood, kick its c**t in! Pull it by its hood, that's it!"

"Drag it to the ground, to the ground, punch its face in.”

The victim is repeatedly kneed in the face and pulled to the ground before she then suffers a series of blows to her torso as the attacker grabs her hood and strikes her fists downwards. At one point, another girl attempts to step in to break up the fight, but she is stopped and pushed away by the woman.

The girls are eventually split up by onlookers, but as the attacker is pulled away from the scene, she can be seen lunging towards the victim on the ground again and forcefully kicking her in the head, knocking her out in the process. The clip then abruptly stops as the group of youths can be seen towering over the unconscious victim.

It is understood the schoolgirl was rushed to a nearby hospital following the incident, where she went on to suffer a number of seizures from her injuries.

A local source said: "She was in hospital but she was released later that night after suffering multiple seizures from the kick to the head."

Officers from Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating the assault. Inquiries currently remain ongoing and there have been no arrests.

Meanwhile, the clip has been described as "sickening" by local MSP Willie Rennie, who raised concerns over the adult's conduct.

The Liberal Democrat leader said: "“Sickening, just sickening. I hope the woman can look at herself in the mirror knowing that she condones this behaviour.”

Our Kids, Our Future was launched last month after the Record reported on a sickening series of beatings on teens in Scotland. The incidents, which included the attack of a 12-year-old autistic schoolgirl in Glasgow, were being filmed and uploaded to social media sites for 'likes' and popularity.

As part of the campaign, the Record has been calling on tech giants to remove damaging content from platforms in order to safeguard children from harm and abuse. Our demands were applauded by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon at Holyrood last week.

She said: "We all have responsibility. The Daily Record campaign is very clear about it and I applaud its campaign."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.30pm on Friday, 3 March, 2023, police were made aware of a disturbance in the Dunnikier Way area of Kirkcaldy. Enquiries are ongoing."
