A teenager who presented to hospital with an injured hand is facing serious charges as police hunt those responsible for the stabbing death of a man in southwest Sydney.
The 17-year-old will face children's court on Sunday after being charged with affray and hindering the investigation of a serious indictable offence of another.
He was refused bail after being released from hospital on Saturday.
The arrest is part of investigations into the death of a 24-year-old man who was allegedly stabbed during a fight in a park in Sydney's southwest.
The victim died at the scene of the brawl at Leonard Reserve, Roselands, on Thursday night, police said.
Officers believe there were several people involved, with many last seen running west along a nearby street.
An investigation by Campsie detectives and the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad is under way.
Police Superintendent Sheridan Waldau said it was "obviously a very concerning event", especially as it occurred in a local family park.
"We know that there were a number of people there at the time and we know that they know what happened," she said on Friday.
