FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Two months after a high-speed crash killed six people in West Delray Beach, a teenager was arrested on vehicular homicide charges in their deaths, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Noah Thomas Galle, 17 at the time of the crash, was speeding on U.S. 441 on Jan. 27 about 11 p.m. when he crashed into the back of the Nissan Rogue carrying the six workers who were leaving their jobs at Pero Family Farms, police said. All but one of the Nissan passengers died at the scene. The sixth passenger later died at the hospital.
The teen, now 18, was speeding at 151 mph in a 2019 white BMW when he smashed into the back of the Nissan, Major Talal Masri said Wednesday at a news conference. There were no tire marks to indicate he attempted to stop.
Galle, of Wellington, is now facing six counts of vehicular homicide. Toxicology reports did not show Galle was under the influence or impaired, officials said Wednesday. His high speed alone led to the fatal crash.
Killed were Remize Michel, 52, of Palm Springs; Marie M. Louis, of Wellington; Filaine Dieu, 45, of Lake Worth Beach; Vanice Percina, 28, of West Palm Beach; and Mirlaine Innocent Julceus, 44, of West Palm Beach. The name of the sixth person killed was not released after the crash.
