Jaren Barajas, an 18-year-old college student, had a remarkable moment during the All-Star Game when he defeated Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard in a 3-point shooting contest, winning $100,000. Barajas, who now prioritizes academics over basketball, described the experience as 'life-changing' and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to support his family and future education.

During the contest, Lillard needed to make three long-range shots to win, while Barajas only required one basket from a distance. With seconds left on the clock, Barajas made a clutch shot off the backboard, following his father's advice to use the glass, securing his victory.

Despite not planning to attend the game, Barajas was surprised with tickets by his father, who found an affordable option the day before the event. The father-son duo arrived early at the arena and were fortunate enough to have Jaren participate in the contest, leading to an unexpected and unforgettable experience.

Former Warriors star Baron Davis praised Barajas for his performance, likening it to a 'clutch performance at the buzzer, Steph Curry-style.' The NBA announced donations of $50,000 each to Lillard's scholarship fund benefiting East Bay high schools and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland and San Francisco.

Lillard, appreciative of the outcome, emphasized the positive impact the contest had on both his scholarship fund and Barajas, acknowledging the life-changing nature of the event. Barajas, a business student at Los Medanos College, plans to use the prize money for his education and future endeavors.

Reflecting on the unexpected turn of events, Michael Barajas, Jaren's father, expressed disbelief and gratitude for the experience. Jaren, still processing the surreal moment, summed it up by saying, 'I just beat Damian Lillard.'
