A woman was reportedly raped in Vale Park over the weekend.
Yesterday police received reports of a rape in the New Brighton park on Sunday, March 20. A police cordon has been set up in Vale Park today while forensic officers searched the scene.
Detectives have confirmed they have arrested a 17-year-old man, from Liscard, on suspicion of rape. He has been taken into custody and will be questioned by police.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We have arrested a male following a report of rape in New Brighton on Sunday 20 March. Yesterday, Monday 21 March, we received a report that a female had been raped in Vale Park on Sunday.
"Following enquiries, officers arrested a 17-year-old male from Liscard on suspicion of rape. He was taken into custody and is being questioned by police."
