Teen arrested in Rouken Glen Park on spitting at police allegation

A teenager has been arrested and charged after allegedly spitting on police officers following a disturbance in a park on the outskirts of Glasgow.

Officers attended reports of a disturbance in Stewarton Road at the top end of Rouken Glen Park around 6:55pm on Thursday of last week (June 18).

A 16-year-old male youth was arrested and charged, alongside a 19-year-old man in connection with the incident - with the teenager alleged to have spat at officers.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Officers attended a report of a disturbance in Stewarton Road at the top end of Rouken Glen Park, East Renfrewshire, around 6.55pm on Thursday, 18 June, 2020.

“A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged and due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Friday, 19 June, 2020. A 16-year-old male youth was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
