A teenager has been arrested after police say they found a knife and drugs worth £1,000 following a stop and search in Bury. Plain clothes officers were on patrol in Radcliffe centre yesterday morning (Thursday, April 20) when they say they saw a man 'acting suspiciously.'
They approached him and detained him following a 'short pursuit' they said. He was searched and Class A drugs worth around £1,000 and a 'concealed knife' were recovered Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said in a statement issued today (Friday).
An 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of both possession of a bladed article and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Officers then later found another knife nearby that appeared to have been hidden in the bushes, however, they said they believe this was unconnected to the earlier incident.
The officers were dispatched to Radcliffe as part of GMP's Operation Venture, set up in December last year in a bid to tackle violent crime.
One of the officers working on the operation, Sergeant Paul Heap said: "Every arrest made and knife seized is a fantastic result for the team as it means one more weapon taken off the streets of Greater Manchester.
"Operation Venture is working hard to reduce violent crime and whilst the team are seeing great results we also rely on intelligence provided to us by members of the public.
"If you know someone is carrying a knife, please report it as soon as possible. We take reports of this nature very seriously and will act on every piece of information given. The information you have could help save lives."
