THREE teenagers were arrested with the help of the dog squad after allegedly leading police on a chase in the Hunter Valley overnight.
Officers attempted to stop a vehicle they believed had been stolen as they were patrolling on Deakin Street at Kurri Kurri just before 12.30am on Tuesday.
The vehicle allegedly failed to stop and a pursuit was sparked.
The chase continued through several suburbs before the car came to a stop on Love Street at Cessnock, about 15 kilometres from the first sighting.
Police allege three people ran from the vehicle, but the police force's dog squad helped track them and the trio was found nearby.
The teenager police allege was behind the wheel, a 19-year-old man, and two passengers, both 16-year-old boys, were arrested at the scene.
They were taken to Cessnock Police Station, where two were charged.
The 19-year-old man was charged with police pursuit, driving on the road having never held a licence, and stealing and driving a car.
One 16-year-old was charged with joyriding in a stolen vehicle, and entering inclosed land without a lawful excuse.
They were both refused bail to face courts today.
The other younger boy was dealt with under the Young Offenders Act and released.
