A teenager was assaulted and robbed of his mobile phone by a gang in a Renfrewshire street.
The 15-year-old was targeted by a group of unknown males in Bishopton’s Lochview Wynd at the junction of Craigton Drive, Dargavel, around 7.40pm on Monday night.
He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, after members of the public rushed to his aid, and later released after treatment.
Police tonight said that there are “four or five suspects” with them being described as aged between 15 and 20.
They were all wearing dark clothing with their hoods up and faces covered.
An investigation is underway in a bid to trace those responsible with an appeal issued by detectives for CCTV and dash-cam footage.
Detective Constable James Campbell, of Police Scotland, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into this incident and we are appealing for the assistance of the public.
“I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to contact us. I would also appeal to anyone with any private CCTV or dash-cam footage to contact us.”
