Ted Lasso on Apple's Vision Pro? Tim Cook watched the entire third season that way

Apple’s Vision Pro won’t hit stores until sometime next year, but CEO Tim Cook has been enjoying the product for quite some time now.

In a wide-ranging interview with CBS’ Sunday Morning, Cook said he uses the headset on a regular basis and had watched “the entire third season of Ted Lasso” on the device. As if that weren’t a sufficient amount of humble bragging, he added there were also "some things I have access to that other people don't have access to, so I'm doing that, but that I can't talk to you about."

While there has been lots of speculation about the Vision Pro, Cook confirmed it remained on schedule for a release early next year.

Noting that the Vision Pro’s production challenges have been “more complex” than those the company faces with iPhone updates, Cook said the mixed-reality headset “requires innovation not only in the development, but also in the manufacturing.”

Apple introduced its long-anticipated Vision Pro in June. The base price of $3,499, though, caught many fans off guard and could limit the potential market for the product in its first iteration. The “Pro” in Vision Pro’s name, however, implies that a more consumer-friendly model is also in the pipeline. And while that probably won’t be inexpensive, either, it’s likely to be well below the Vision Pro’s price.

Apple, meanwhile, quietly showed some support for the upcoming headset at its most recent iPhone event, showcasing the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max’s ability to shoot 3D spacial videos, which you’ll later be able to watch on the Vision Pro.

A new “double tap” gesture that works with the Apple Watch Series 9, meanwhile, is the same that will be used with the Vision Pro, giving consumers a chance to get used to tapping their index and thumb together to initiate actions.
