Emmy nominations 2022: Succession, Ted Lasso, White Lotus, Hacks, Euphoria lead as Squid Game makes history

Succession has dominated the nominations for the Emmy Awards with 25 nods, including one for Australia's Sarah Snook.

But it has a big-time rival for Best Drama in Squid Game, which is the first non-English language series to vie for television's top honour. The Netflix hit scooped up 14 nominations in total.

There was more good for Australia's hopes in the limited series categories, with nominations for Murray Bartlett for The White Lotus and Toni Collette for The Staircase. But Jacqui Weaver, who'd been tipped as a possible guest acting nominee for Yellowstone, missed out.

Ted Lasso dominated the nominations in the comedy category but could face stiff competition for several awards from the cast of dark comedy Barry — creator Bill Hader has nominations in four separate categories.
