Ted Bundy Netflix series: Renowned serial killer says ‘I’m not an animal and I’m not crazy’

Netflix has unveiled a first look at chilling new series Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes.

The series is based off a book of the same name, written by Stephen G. Michaud and Hugh Aynesworth, and features over 100 hours of never before heard audio from interview sessions with the writers of the book.

Giving viewers a disturbing insight into the twisted mind of Bundy, who targeted and killed a spree of innocent women, the show is told in his own words during his time on death row.

On one of the tapes, Bundy is recorded saying: “My name is Ted Bundy. I've never spoken to anybody about this, but I am looking for an opportunity to tell this story as best I can.

“I mean, I'm not an animal and I’m not crazy and I don't have a split personality. I’m just a normal individual.”

The trailer gives a glimpse into the graphic crime scenes left behind by Bundy, including the equipment used to carry out some of the crimes such as ski masks, gloves, rope and handcuffs.

An expert can be heard telling the camera: “He had really blue eyes and when he really got going his eyes went absolutely black.

“He didn't look like anybody's notion of somebody who would tear apart young girls.”

The series is directed by Emmy winner and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile director, Joe Berlinger.

Bundy confessed to killing 30 women in seven states and was executed by electric chair on January 24, 1989.

The show is set to air on Netflix on January 24, the 30th anniversary of Bundy’s execution.
