Alongside the announcement of a tasty-looking pair of headphones, Technics has also unveiled a second new product at this year’s CES show in Las Vegas. Technics has revealed its new SA-C600 Compact Network CD Receiver as part of the brand’s Premium C600 Series. The new unit joins the SB-C600 Compact Speaker System that launched back in September 2021.
According to Technics’ European product manager Frank Balzuweit: “The SA-C600 is a significant add-on to the Technics portfolio, filling the gap between all-in-one compact speaker systems such as C70MK2 and true separate component systems such as the C700 and the G700 systems. There is high demand for such products – a compact, highly elegant, yet ultimately high-performing receiver with the option to connect virtually any speakers of choice. This enables a performance level not possible with all-in-one solutions, yet without the need to find space for lots of components within the home.”
The new SA-C600 has a sophisticated full-digital amplifier based on the JENO Engine, with its rock-solid power and dynamic music reproduction that is typical of the Technics sound. It also provides wide connectivity and flexibility as a premium music center.
At the heart of the SA-C600 is an elegant top-loading CD player plus a 60W-per-channel of Technics proprietary full-digital amplifier based on the JENO Engine (Jitter Elimination and Noise-Shaping Optimization). The unit is fitted with a low-noise power supply. For those music lovers who enjoy vinyl, there’s a high-quality phono MM input for connecting a turntable. To add other digital sources there’s an optical SPDIF input with an auto power-on function that can detect when a source signal is present and is ideal for use with TVs.
Additional features include a subwoofer output, Chromecast built-in for multiroom capability and access to various streaming services like Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Deezer, and Amazon Music. Internet Radio is supported alongside a DAB and FM tuner. Finally, there’s support for Apple AirPlay 2 and MQA native decoding.
The SA-C600 Compact Network CD Receiver joins the elegant high-performance SB-C600 compact speaker system that Technics introduced back in September 2021. The speakers are an ideal sonic and aesthetic match for the SA-C600 Compact Network CD Receiver. Together they form a very attractive, audiophile unit in an all-in-one design for people who don’t want a large audio system of separates but who do want top-notch performance.
Pricing & Availability: The SA-C600 will be available in Europe from February 2022, in a choice of silver or black. The price in the UK will be £849 prices for USA and EU to be confirmed.
