Tech & Science Daily podcast: Billions of objects revealed in Milky Way

An astonishing 3.3 billion-plus cosmic objects in our Milky Way have been revealed in stunning detail for the first time.

The vast inventory of celestial entities - from baby stars to vast, colourful cloud of dusts and gases - was created from the Dark Energy Camera at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile, run by the U.S. National Science Foundation.

The project took two years and the Dark Energy Camera generated 21,500 exposures of the sky, creating a huge 10-terabytes of data.

A study believed to be the first of its kind has discovered ultraviolet light-emitting drying lamps used for gel manicures could damage your DNA.

The research co-author from the University of California told Tech & Science Daily the skin cancer concerns around UV drying lamps used in gel manicures at nail and beauty salons after research shows the process can damage DNA.
