Technology consultancy Opencast has opened its latest office in Glasgow.
Founded in Newcastle upon Tyne in 2012, the business now employs more than 400 consultants, including 19 of its team now working in Glasgow.
It expects to create new jobs in the city, with ambitions to grow its team to 30 over the coming year.
A recent report from property firm Savills ranked Glasgow in the top three tech cities in the UK outside of London; and the city saw total annual venture capital increase by 135% in 2021 to £43m, with a further increase of 281% in 2022.
“Glasgow is a city experiencing thriving growth and investment, and it also has an unrivalled pool of talent, especially in the technology space,” said Opencast chief executive Tom Lawson.
“Our Glasgow hub will be home to consultants with a range of specialisms, particularly in user-centred design and data.
“Our team in the city is adding to our growing Scottish presence, following our recently opened Edinburgh hub.“
Glasgow is the fourth city hub opened by the consultancy in the past year, following Edinburgh, London and Leeds in 2022.
This expansion has come on the back of new client wins across the UK – including for HM Revenue and Customs, the Department for Work and Pensions and the Government Digital Service.
Separately, innovation incentives adviser ForrestBrown has moved to new office space in Glasgow to accommodate its growing team.
The firm has been helping Scottish companies secure research and development (R&D) tax relief for several years, with the move to a larger office on Bothwell Street strengthens its capacity to provide specialist, local expertise.
Alongside R&D tax relief, ForrestBrown also provides support on Patent Box relief, capital allowances and a range of other government grants.
With continued growth forecast, ForrestBrown is actively seeking the best talent for its team in Scotland.
