There were tears on Gogglebox as it returned for the second time since the Queen's death was announced. Queen Elizabeth II died last Thursday, September 8, at Balmoral. She was 96 and recently celebrated 70 years on the throne with her Platinum Jubilee, making her the longest-reigning monarch in British history.
The hit Channel 4 show debuted its brand new series last Friday (September 9) but didn't include any tribute to reaction to the Queen's passing as it had been filmed prior to the Queen's passing. As usual, Craig Cash narrated the show and started with his usual opening line while referencing the historic event.
"In the week before the sad passing of Her Majesty the Queen, there was plenty on telly," the former Royal Family star said. Some eagle-eyed viewers noticed that was slightly adapted, as he usually says "we enjoyed lots of great telly."

And tonight's episode (September 16) was no different as he said: "This week we watched the moment BBC News told the nation that Her Majesty the Queen had died." As he spoke, silence rung out as the exterior of the cast members' homes were shown.
"Wow, this is a real bit of history right now, isn't it?" Helena, of the Worthington family, said before BBC News' report with Huw Edwards aired. Jenny Newby was then seen dabbing her eyes as she sniffled through tears with best pal Lee Riley sat beside her.
Many of the cast members sat solemnly as Huw could be heard telling them the news the Queen had passed, and read Buckingham Palace's short statement. "She's gone," Sue said with a crack in her voice. Stephen Webb commented that it was 'nice to hear' she had died 'peacefully' at the home she loved in Scotland.
"Balmoral was her most famous castle, you know?" Pete Saniford said to his little sister with tears filling his eyes. They then found themselves having to get used to hearing King Charles, instead of the Queen. "I just can't believe it, I'm just in disbelief," Izzi Warner said with an emotional look in her face.
Jenny then battled through tears as she joined in a rendition of 'God Save the King', the first time it was sung during an official ceremony, while Mary Killen burst into tears as Giles told her: "Steady," and grabbed hold of her hand.
And Gogglebox fans were soon flocking to social media to comment and some felt slightly uncomfortable. @AMG_Review tweeted: "Not sure how I feel about #Gogglebox reacting to the news of the Queen’s passing." @turntheboxon said; "There is literally no way that this was filmed the moment the Queen died #Gogglebox."
@rozlaws wrote: "These comments on #Gogglebox seem so long ago now. @JamesWHarrison posted: "Gogglebox feeling more staged than usual tonight. I don't believe any of them are watching the live news. #Gogglebox."
