Tears for Fears have pulled out of their Millennium Square gig with less than 24 hours to go.
They also cancelled shows at Scarborough and Warwick at the same time and have already pulled out of concerts in Derby and at Lytham Festival. The band said they were “disappointed and gutted” about having to pull out at the last minute.
Curt Smith, one of the band members, has reportedly suffered a “serious rib injury” and is unable to perform. The band said: “We sadly are unable to perform at this week’s shows in Leeds, Warwick, and Scarborough. We are so disappointed and gutted not to be able to play these concerts. Curt is following doctors orders and is doing everything possible to heal and be performing again soon.

“Please contact your point of purchase for ticket refunds for Leeds and Warwick which are cancelled. We are exploring solutions to reschedule Scarborough and will have an update tomorrow.”
The band was set to perform as part of the ‘Sounds of the City’ which will see Richard Ashcroft performing on July 16.
After the cancellation at Lytham Festival, Curt Smith tweeted out more information. He said: “Thank you so much for the get well messages. To update you - I have a rib injury & singing would have been impossible last night. I’m doing everything I can to get fit for the next show. I appreciate the love & support.”
While fans sent their best wishes to the band, some were annoyed at the late decision to cancel the gig. @seamus1814 wrote: "10pm night before? Joke." @Mummy_Bear51 tweeted: "Thanks for the update. Disappointed that the band couldn't have made this announcement themselves and earlier."
@bowerham claimed to be "£150 out of pocket". They wrote: "And while I booked a flexible rate hotel just seen I had to cancel by 6pm this evening so by leaving it so late to cancel when there was a known issue I'm out of pocket to the tune of £150. Great!"
