Tears as Ant and Dec choose their Golden Buzzer act on Britain's Got Talent

His motto is to be happy and to make others happy, and teen dancer Akshat Singh wept tears of joy as he sailed through to the Britain's Got Talent semi-fnals.

Judges on the ITV talent show have the opportunity to choose a favourite act at the audition stage to skip the next stage - and so do the presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

Tonight Ant and Dec proudly chose Akshat from India as their Golden Buzzer act.

He impressed the presenters and the judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Simon Cowell and the presenters watching side stage as he danced to rap superstar Nicki Minaj's hit Starships.

Ant and Dec bounded onto the stage to press the Golden Buzzer and Akshat wept with emotion as he received a hug from Ant.

"Make us proud, I'm sure you will," the duo told him.

Akshat previously appeared on India's Got Talent and he won hearts of BGT fans with his confident performance.

"Awesome," applauded one on Twitter.

"Ah he's ace," commented another.

"Love him, what a great little dancer," said another fan.
