A tearful Scarlett Moffatt has described a "scary" encounter as she got off a train in London when a man followed her and told her he was "taking her home" with him.
The County Durham-born star, who found fame on the TV show Gogglebox, shared the creepy experience on her Instagram stories as wiped away tears. Scarlett also praised two London North Eastern Railway (LNER) train guards who came to her aid, describing them as "absolute legends".
She also issued a warning about people using social media and said she "naively" posted that she was going to London on the train online. And on arrival at Kings Cross Station, she was met by a terrifying man who said he had "been waiting" for her and wanted to "take her home".

Thankfully Neil and Danny from LNER saw the exchange and intervened, even walking Scarlett to her hotel. And it was from the safety of her hotel room that a shook-up Scarlett took to Instagram to thank the LNER staff but to also urge people not to post where they are for their own safety.
She said: "Right I'm going to do this video and not for attention or anything like that. Firstly I want to say a massive thank you to Neil and Danny who work for LNER because it's not your job description to walk me all the way to my hotel and I really, really appreciate it.
"I'm doing this so that people realise the importance of using social media and not always posting where you are. I stupidly, naively posted on Instagram saying off to London on the train and when I got into Kings Cross station there was a guy there.
"I think because Danny and Neil were there I stayed calm but this guy came at me and was saying: 'Scarlett I've been waiting for you, are you coming home with me?'
"And then I said: 'Oh no thank you' and walked off and then he followed me and was like: 'Scarlett, Scarlett are you coming home with me? I'm taking you home with me' and then luckily the train guards seen this because it was just outside Kings Cross station and then was like: 'Come over here, oh Scarlett hiya' pretending I was with them and then walked me to my hotel.
"I think it's just hit us how scary that was but I want to say to youse do not post, you never know who is looking at your stories. Please people, be careful what you're posting ."
