Team GB Wins Gold In Team Jumping Event At Château De Versailles

Team GB

Team GB continued its successful outing in the equestrianism arena on Friday, securing a gold medal in the team jumping event. The competition was intense, with the United States team initially taking the lead after a stellar performance by McLain Ward on Ilex. However, the British riders remained composed under pressure.

Scott Brash, riding on Jefferson, delivered an exceptional performance with just one time penalty and no jumping faults, propelling Team GB to the top spot and clinching the gold at Château de Versailles. The team, consisting of Brash, Harry Charles, and Ben Maher, finished with a total score of 237.47, outshining Team USA who settled for silver with a score of 229.90. France secured the bronze medal.

Harry Charles followed in his father's footsteps by winning gold in the same event.

This victory held special significance for Harry Charles, as he followed in his father Peter's footsteps by winning gold in the same event, mirroring Peter's triumph at the London Olympics in 2012. Maher and Brash also added to their accolades, having been part of the gold medal-winning team alongside Peter Charles twelve years ago.

Team GB's success in the team jumping event comes on the heels of their earlier triumph in the team eventing competition, further solidifying their dominance in equestrian sports at the highest level.
