Team GB Sets New World Record In Women's Team Sprint

British Cycling

The track cycling portion of the Paris Games has kicked off with an impressive start. The women's team sprint event saw Team GB and New Zealand setting new records, showcasing their exceptional skills and speed on the track.

New Zealand initially set the bar high with a time of 45.593 in the 750m event, establishing a new Olympic record. However, Team GB quickly outdid them by setting a remarkable new world record of 45.472, surpassing the previous record set by China earlier this year.

Following the qualification rounds, Team GB currently leads the standings among the eight competing teams, with New Zealand securing the second spot and Germany in third place. The stage is now set for an exciting first round of the event scheduled for later today, with the highly anticipated finals to follow.
