Team GB set medal target for 2024 Paris Olympics by UK Sport

Team GB have been set a medal target of between 50 and 70 at the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.

Great Britain finished fourth in the medal table at the last Games in Tokyo three years ago with 64 medals in total, just down on the 67 they won in Rio de Janeiro where they finished runner-up to the United States.

UK Sport have set the target of 50 to 70 medals for the Olympics and 100 to 140 for the Paralympics, with the aim of a top-five finish in the medal table in both Games.

Team GB has finished in the top five of the Olympics for each Games since Beijing in 2008.

UK Sport chair Dame Katherine Grainger said: “Paris offers the hugely exciting prospect of our brilliant British athletes competing on our doorstep.

“It’s also the first Games on a European time zone since London 2012, and I have no doubt that the British public will seize the moment to unite and cheer our incredible athletes to victory.
