A new mural has appeared on a Cardiff street in anticipation of a huge WWE event taking place at the start of September. The team behind the much-loved Mona Lisa mural in Butetown and the Gary Speed mural near Cardiff City Stadium have revealed that they are working on an "exciting project" with the WWE.
Posting a picture of their latest mural from their Twitter account, Unify said they were "working on an exciting project with the WWE". The long-awaited Clash at the Castle show is set to take place at the Principality Stadium on September 3. The event will be the first WWE stadium event in the UK for 30 years, with more than 59,000 people pre-registering for the event.
Speaking of the announcement earlier this year, WWE superstar Drew McIntyre said: “The city of Cardiff is ready for WWE Clash at the Castle on September 3, and I know that everyone in Wales, across the UK and around the entire world is ready to make history with us, too. Get your tickets and be part of the magic. I can’t wait to hear just how loud Principality Stadium can get.”

The new mural, which has been created in anticipation of the huge event, has been painted on Cardiff's Womanby Street. While it has not yet been finished, the mural depicts Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre, who will face each other for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event.
Unify said that they were contacted by WWE to create the mural on their behalf. They added that the mural is being painted by renowned Welsh street artist Bradley Rmer One, who collaborated with them for their 'My City, My Shirt' mural on Quay Street.
Unify have now developed a number of much-loved murals around the city, most recently the Gary Speed mural on the junction of Atlas Road and Leckwith Road. The tribute to the Welsh footballing legend depicts a black and white portrait of Speed alongside the words 'Only one Gary Speed.'
The team are also responsible for developing the the Butetown mural dubbed Cardiff's 'Mona Lisa.' The mural features mother-of-two Maimuna Yoncana, originally from Guinea-Bissau, wearing a Cardiff City shirt and cradling her baby bump.
The mural was designed to celebrate the diversity of the capital and was painted in April 2021 as part of a project of the same name organised by Cardiff creatives Yusuf Ismail and Shawqi Hasson. Unify is the team behind the My City My Shirt campaign, which aims to encourage more people to connect with their city and football.
Fans who are unable to head to Cardiff for the big wrestling event can catch all of the action from WWE's Clash at the Castle live on BT Sport on Saturday, September 3. For more information go to www.bt.com/sport/wwe. Tickets for the event are available here.
