Telugu Desam Party leaders and activists staged protests across the city against the increased electricity charges in the State.
TDP youth leader Devineni Chandrasekhar along with 10th division corporator Devineni Aparna led a torch rally protesting the recently announced hike in power charges by the YSRCP government.
He alleged that the government had increased the power charges seven times in the past two and a half years. As a result, people were going to face a huge burden, he said.
The YSRCP government was going to face the ire of the public soon and the TDP would stand by the public till the hike was rolled back, he said.
TDP Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan and other leaders also staged protests in various areas of the city. Mr. Gadde distributed handheld fans to public.
