Tayto Park founder Ray Coyle dies age 70

Tayto Park founder and businessman Ray Coyle has died aged 70.

He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family yesterday.

A spokeswoman for Tayto Park told Dublin Live: "Yesterday (June 8) Raymond Coyle passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family."

The businessman from Meath is survived by his wife Roz, his son Charles and his daughter Natalya.

He launched his business career by growing potatoes on land in Curraha, Meath before setting up Largo Foods.

Mr Coyle purchased the Tayto brand in 2006 and began building Tayto Park in 2008.

The amusement park officially opened in 2010 and has had over 5 million visitors since.
