Tayside Mountain Rescue Team have used brand new kit and technology to save a stricken hillwalker.
The emergency crew unveiled a brand new stretcher and communication system in the weekend drama.
The team were called to a remote part of Glen Lyon after a walker suffered a serious lower leg injury.
The incident required a very long stretcher extraction to safety.
A team spokesman said: “This gave us the chance to use our new stretcher wheel and handle set up, which proved a success.
“With a lack of comms, we were also able to utilise our Garmin inReach, which gave us accurate locations for the Teams on the ground through email and texts via satellite technology.
“We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.”
Garmin inReach uses the latest GPS technology and helps professionals across the world. It can be linked to a mobile phone app and helps team members communicate and track each other while out on the hill.
Tayside Mountain Rescue Team is made up entirely of volunteers who live in the operational area.
The team is made up of a wide variety of professions and relies on public donations.
