Taylor Swift tickets already being sold for as much as £6,000 on Stubhub

Taylor Swift fans have been left fuming as tickets for the popstar's UK Eras Tour are already being resold for thousands of pounds online. In wake of the first batch of presale tickets going on offer via Ticketmaster today (July 10), Swifties have taken to Stubhub to see if they can try their luck there and secure themselves a spot at one of the gigs.

However, many have been shocked and annoyed after seeing how much some are being sold for. For Taylor Swift’s gig at London's Wembley Stadium next June, Stubhub has tickets starting from £437 and going up to £6,025.

Below is a look at several tickets being listed on Stubhub for the Friday, June 21 2024, concert (at the time of publishing):

  • Upper Tier - £437 (for one ticket)

  • General Admission Standing - £664 (for one ticket)

  • Club Tier - £799 (for one ticket)

  • Front Standing Right - £877 (for one ticket)

  • Front Standing Left - £978 (for one ticket)

  • Lower Tier - £1,843 (for one ticket)

  • General Admission Standing - £3,916 (for one ticket)

  • Front Standing Left - £6,025 (for one ticket)

Meanwhile, following the first round of presale tickets today, fans on Twitter have shared the prices fellow Swifties can except to pay after bagging a ticket themselves - as shown below:

  • Ticket pre-sale general admission standing ticket - £110.40

  • Ticket pre-sale front standing left ticket - £172.25

  • Ticket pre-sale front standing right ticket - £172.25

  • Ticket pre-sale seated ticket - £58.65 - £194.75

In response to the high prices, Bishjitsu tweeted: "Anyone in #london that didn’t get a ticket, already appearing on Stubhub and other resellers The fans getting robbed by scumbags." Many also raged at the cost of tickets being sold on fellow online marketplace Viagogo.

Bonnietack put: "Surprise, surprise. Get to front of queue for #TaylorSwift at Wembley, and there are no tickets left. Go straight to @viagogo and there are plenty, all way over face value. How is this legal?"

Craigutfr2 fumed: "Taylor swift tickets already on Viagogo for Edinburgh (£318) and Wembley (£377) absolute *****. Not going to be cheap this ffs. Things we do for our kids."

Daniellewhyte_ added: "How are there already tickets on viagogo for Taylor swift for over £2000, people are b*******." JoHulmeBeeYou said: "Any explanation as to #Viagogo are reselling Eras tour at Extortionate prices."

In response, a Viagogo spokesperson said: "The European leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour has been long anticipated. We’ve not seen anything like this since The Beatles and with tickets having only just gone on sale, demand is at its peak right now.

"Viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the freedom to buy and sell tickets to their favourite live events, safely and securely, backed by a guarantee. Sellers on our marketplace may list tickets at high values when demand is high, but prices can change and tend to reduce over time.

"We recommend Swifties wait for demand to settle and check regularly for a listing that meets their budget. Tickets for Taylor Swift’s UK dates have already sold for as low as 172 GBP on our platform. Also, tickets listed at eye-catchingly high levels rarely, if ever, sell."

Between June and August 2024, the singer-songwriter will be heading to the UK. She is due to perform at London's Wembley Stadium, Liverpool's Anfield Stadium, Edinburgh's BT Murrayfield Stadium and Cardiff's Principality Stadium.

Today, fans can get presale Eras Tour tickets to see her live at London and Edinburgh, if they were lucky enough to be given a presale code. Timings for all the other presale shows have been staggered to avoid a Ticketmaster meltdown.

Tickets will be sold on a first-come first-served basis, while currently available inventory lasts and up to four tickets can be purchased per customer. According to Ticketmaster, all registrants will receive an email from either itself or AXS confirming their selected/waitlist status by 11.59pm Friday, July 14. General sale tickets will be on offer next week.

Stubhub has been approached for comment.
