Taylor Swift 'splits' from Joe Alwyn as six-year romance 'has run its course'

Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have reportedly broken up, ending their six-year relationship.

It is reported the pop icon and British actor parted ways a few weeks ago. According to Entertainment Tonight (ET), the split was "not dramatic" as the relationship has "run its course".

Swift is currently travelling the US on her 2023 Eras and the revelation explains why Alwyn hadn't been seen at any of her shows. The superstars met back in 2016 but unlike Swift's passed partners, her and Joe kept their relationship very private.

In 2022, the Sun reported the lovebirds were supposedly engaged and "incredibly happy and very, very in love".

A source told the Sun: "They’ve actually been engaged for a few months but have only told their inner-inner circle - basically immediate family, and trusted, very old friends.

"Everyone has been sworn to secrecy, too. Taylor has a beautiful ring but she only wears it when she’s at home - i.e behind closed doors."

ET further reports Swift, who recently released her tenth studio album "Midnights", confirmed the lyrics in her hit "Lavender Haze" were about her and Alwyn's romance.

The 31 year-old, who hails from London, has acted in major film titles which include Mary Queen of Scots, The Favourite and Boy Erased. His 2022 role in the BBC drama Conversations With Friends - based on Sally Rooney's novel of the same name - further propelled him into stardom.

But he is also credited on a number of 33 year-old Swift's latest album tracks under the pseudonym William Bowery, even winning Grammys for his contribution. Swift confirmed this in her "Folklore" documentary series on Disney+.
