After two long years of the Eras Tour, Taylor Swift has rewarded her crew with a generous bonus and suddenly my Christmas bonus feels pretty slack.
As it turns out, Swift handed out a whopping $197 million USD to her tour crew over the last two years. That money was split between truck drivers, caterers, music techs, merch sales people, production new, makeup artists, her band and the multitude of other people who came together to make this work. For those playing along at home in Australia, that’s more than $300 million.
It’s unclear how much each staffer pocketed for their work on the tour, but we can only assume it was at least a nice bonus.
While that sounds like a crazy amount of money, it makes sense when you consider just how much she made from Eras.
According to Taylor Swift Touring, the Eras Tour officially became the bestselling tour of all time — doubling the gross ticket sales of any other concert tour in history — with a total attendance of 10,168,008 people.
As for how much money she pocketed, the concert tickets alone earned a whopping $2,077,618,725. Yes, TWO BILLION DOLLARS. And that doesn’t even count the merch sales, streaming revenue and countless other revenue sources.
Obviously, Swift doesn’t get to keep all of that money for herself, but it does explain why she can drop $200 million like its spare change.
Swift wrapped up her final show of the world tour in Vancouver on December 8 — nearly two years after it all started in March 2023.
“I want to thank every single one of you for being a part of the most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date — my beloved Eras Tour,” she said before performing ‘Karma’ to round out the final night of one of the world’s most iconic tours.
Anyway, the Eras Tour is officially over, we *still* don’t have a self-titled Taylor’s Version and, to be quite honest with you, I am not ready for this era to end.
