Taylor Swift 's ex Joe Alwyn is said to be "disappointed" and "embarrassed" amid the breakup song that the singer penned recently.
The American songstress, 33, released You're Losing Me towards the end of last month, with the track only available to purchase in CD format from some of her shows while on tour.
Fans were quick to share the heartbreaking tune with fellow Swifties online, which soon led to speculation as to whether or not the track might be about British actor Joe - who Taylor reportedly split from earlier this year.
The song appears to document the breakdown of a relationship, with Taylor touching upon how she wanted to get married and alluding to how her lover never asked her.
And now it has emerged that Joe, who the song is thought to be penned about, "finds it very embarrassing and disappointing", with him "under the impression she’d spare him the Harry Styles treatment".
A source also told RadarOnline that Joe, 32, found it "rude" that Taylor flaunted her "tacky new romance" with Matty Healy - who she is now said to have split from.
They continued: "He’s respectfully asking her to let him move on — and shut up!"
Some of the lyrics in You're Losing Me go: "How long could we be a sad song / 'Til we were too far gone to bring back to life?
"I gave you all my best me's, my endless empathy / And all I did was bleed as I tried to be the bravest soldier / Fighting in only your army, frontlines, don't you ignore me / I'm the best thing at this party (You're losing me)."
She then admits: "And I wouldn't marry me either / A pathological people pleaser / Who only wanted you to see her."
Fans were quick to react, with many speculating that the song could be about Joe, although RadarOnline now reports that a source says the song isn't about him.
Reacting to the song after listening, one person said: "You’re Losing Me is actually going to me my cause of death, the parallels to all of her love lyrics about Joe to this…..ouch."
"So, You're Losing Me is about Joe's lack of efforts to save the relationship and Taylor seems tired of always being the one keeping the relationship together," speculated a second.
While a third offered: "I think Taylor actually wanted to get married (Paper Rings, Lover bridge etc) but Joe didn’t and she convinced herself she didn’t want to either (Lavender Haze), but now that they’re done, she realised she actually did (You’re Losing Me).
