Millions of Taylor Swift fans will soon find out if they have been lucky enough to be selected to receive the all important presale codes from Ticketmaster, allowing them the best chance to get tickets to the singer's new tour. Swifties had to register with Ticketmaster in advance to be able to purchase tickets for the general sale of The Eras Tour which is coming to Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff, Dublin and London next year.
Lucky fans are set to get an email from the ticket retailers telling them they have been selected or not. They will then get a presale code allowing them access to tickets at a later date. This has left Swift fans anxious and refreshing their emails every few seconds.
Ticketmaster has stressed that tickets will be provided on a "first come first serve basis" as demand will be extremely high. It means even those who registered in advance may not even get codes sent to them.
Manifesting good luck, Timelesswft on Twitter said: "Ticketmaster is going to email me good news TODAY that I have been selected for presale for eras tour. I deserve to see taylor swift live. I surround myself with positive thinking and good thoughts. I have got this. I do not need to stress. Breathe."
With demand so high, expect there to be a booming grey market in reselling codes for extortionate prices, even before the real tickets go up for sale. Swiftie, Rauhlslegendary, took to Twitter to express their frustration at not yet receiving an email: "I NEED THAT CODE UGH! ticketmaster im begging you. Good luck swifties"
Another fan, Rauhlslegendary, tweeted their frustration at not yet receiving an email, posting: "I NEED THAT CODE UGH! Ticketmaster im begging you. Good luck swifties"
Saamcarr added: "So are you normal or have you just been refreshing your emails all morning for your code for Taylor Swift tickets." Tattooqhearts typed: "Are you normal or do you feel violently ill over Taylor Swift verified fan selection emails."
Fans who do get an email, will receive it from the promoter AEG Presents and it will include information on the concert date they have signed up for. Ticketmaster said: "If you are selected to receive an access code, you will receive an email the afternoon before the ticket sales begin per the schedule above.
"This email will include timing details and a link to where the on-sale will occur, and your unique, non-transferrable access code."
Codes are non-transferable, "should not be shared" and are only valid up to the ticket limit of four. As so much depends on one email, fans are getting twitchy, with ManiceIIe admitting: "Jumping every time I get a new email and it's not a Taylor Swift eras tour email."
Ticketmaster has been approached for comment.
