Taylor Swift appears to have been ruled out of headlining Glastonbury 2024. The pop star has released three new dates for her UK Eras tour in 2024 with shows in Edinburgh on June 9, Liverpool on June 13 and London on June 23 being announced on Wednesday.
They are in addition to the 10 UK shows previously confirmed for next June and August.
Taylor will also be bringing her Eras Tour to Dublin's Aviva Stadium on Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29, 2024 as well as a new date on Sunday, June 30. She has also announced that her support act for the gigs will be Paramore.
There had previously been rumours that the megastar could be a surprise addition to Glastonbury next year. However this appears to have been ruled out as fans have been quick to point out, the third Dublin date would coincide with a possible headline slot on the final night of the 2024 festival.
@jameshendicott posted on Twitter: "Interestingly the third Taylor Swift Dublin show means she's not playing Glastonbury. Her playing in 2024 was about the strongest rumour I can remember, I was very confident that was going to happen."
And @strmrgn tweeted: "The Taylor Swift headlining #Glastonbury next year theory/rumour seems to have been shot down by the extra show dates. Both the “spare” Sundays in June now have shows on them…"
While @ClashMagazine shared: "Taylor Swift's latest tour update means a Glastonbury 2024 headline spot is impossible. It's not happening, folks, as much as we want it to."
There is, however, a huge UK tour to look forward to - with Paramore supporting.
General sale tickets will go on sale between Monday, July 17, and Wednesday, July 19. Fans who have been successful in getting an access code for the general sale will be notified in the coming days.
Taylor has previously been confirmed to headline Glastonbury - having been announced for the 2020 festival. However, the popular festival was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
