Taylor Swift fans need to follow these rules to get tickets to The Eras UK 2024 tour

Taylor Swift fans will be setting their alarms for just a few hours time as the first wave of pre-sale tickets are set to go live for the highly-anticipated The Eras Tour in the UK.

Pre-sale tickets for shows in London and Edinburgh will be available to buy from 11am on Monday, July 10 on Ticketmaster and AXS. Fans who bought Swift's Midnights album last year will have received a unique access code via email to purchase tickets from today.

The pre-sale will take place between Monday, July 10 and Friday, July 14 for the tour shows in London, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Dublin. Because of demand, the ticketing sites are staggering the on-sale times at 11am, 1pm and 3pm throughout the week.

The UK and Europe leg of The Eras Tour follows Swift's sell-out tour in America, where she has been entertaining millions of fans across several states, bringing some very special guests with her.

Paramore will be supporting the 33-year-old artist on her UK tour which starts in Edinburgh, Scotland on June 7, 2024. The Lover singer will also be performing at London's Wembley Stadium, Anfield in Liverpool, Cardiff's Principality Stadium and the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.

To be in with a chance of getting tickets to see the global pop superstar, fans had to follow a number of rules, and will need to keep them in mind during the pre-sale and general sale ticket launches. We've listed what they are below.

Pre-sale ticket rules for Taylor Swift

The first rule to mention, is Midnights.

If you didn't participate in the Midnights pre-order before 12pm on Thursday October 27, 2022 then you won't have qualified for special pre-sale access. It only applies to those who bought the album between August 29, 2022 and October 27, 2022.

If you did, and haven't received your email yet with your unique access code, double check your spam folder first and then if not contact presale@umusic.com as soon as possible.

If you know someone who did pre-order the album but isn't going to the tour, for whatever reason, then you could ask them if they could give only you their code.

For UK pre-dates fans will either be assigned Ticketmaster or AXS as their chosen provider. This means that if you are given Ticketmaster you will not be able to also log into AXS during the same pre-sale time as your code won't work on there. This doesn't apply to Dublin though, as Ticketmaster is the only official ticket agent for this area.

Next, the email address you received your unique pre-sale access code to MUST be linked to your account with either Ticketmaster or AXS. Check you have an active account linked because if not, you will need to create one or risk losing out.

Codes may only be used to purchase up to four tickets per customer. This means that if you're successful using your code once for tickets, you then can't use it again to try and get tickets to another show.

Ticketmaster have also said "receiving a code does not guarantee ticket access.

"Ticket availability is limited and subject to currently available inventory. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last."

  • Monday, July 10 - 11am - London, Wembley (June 21) and Edinburgh, BT Murrayfield Stadium (June 7)

What about general sale?

The first rule to mention here is registration. Only fans who registered for the general sale with Ticketmaster will be able to gain access to buy tickets on the day.

That's because a unique code will be emailed to fans who have by 11.59pm on July 14. AEG, the promoter of the event, sent out emails on Wednesday which gave fans an update.

It read: "A limited number of registrants will have the opportunity to access the ticket sale and everyone else will be placed on the waitlist. Due to the demand for these shows, and to ensure the maximum number of fans have the opportunity to access tickets, registrants will be randomly selected for the opportunity to access the ticket sale."

That means some fans may not even be selected to purchase tickets as part of the general sale. And those who are selected will be given Ticketmaster or AXS as their provider.

Registrants who are chosen will have the opportunity to access the sale for the specific city they registered for. Those who are not initially selected will be placed on the waiting list to receive a code. If you are placed on the waitlist, and any further tickets becomes available, you may be sent an email to join the sale.
