Left-leaning Taylor Swift fans recently participated in a Zoom call organized by the group 'Swifties for Kamala' to rally support for Kamala Harris in the upcoming election. Notably, Taylor Swift herself has no direct involvement with this group or the call that took place.
'Swifties for Kamala' has garnered a significant following of around a quarter of a million supporters on various social media platforms. Additionally, they have managed to raise over $13,000 for the Harris-Walz campaign, showcasing their dedication to the cause.
The call, which saw more than 26,000 registered participants, featured prominent figures such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Sen. Ed Markey, Rep. Chris Deluzio, Rep. Becca Balint, and Anderson Clayton, the chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party. Despite hopes that Kamala Harris or her running mate, Tim Walz, might join the call, they were not in attendance.
During the call, Sen. Elizabeth Warren commended the Swifties for their resilience and ability to stand up against adversity. She drew parallels between the group's unity and the values of the Kamala Harris campaign, emphasizing the importance of standing up for what is right in the face of challenges.
Carole King, another notable figure on the call, encouraged participants not to shy away from using their voices, symbolized by singing a rendition of Taylor Swift's hit song 'Shake It Off.'
The event was marked by a sense of camaraderie and empowerment, with attendees expressing their support through emojis and engaging with the speakers' messages of unity and activism.
