Taylor Swift fans are outraged after Ticketmaster announced they would be cancelling Friday's planned sale for the singer's upcoming stadium tour after running out of tickets.
32-year-old Taylor recently announced that she will be embarking on her first US stadium tour in five years next year, following one of the biggest album launches of her career.
She will be joined by a number of popular artists, including Paramore, Haim and Phoebe Bridgers.
Ticketmaster's decision comes just two days after a presale event caused the site to crash, leaving many disappointed fans without tickets.
"Due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow’s public on-sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been cancelled," Ticketmaster tweeted.
Ticketmaster said the site was overwhelmed both by real people and bot attacks, resulting in unprecedented traffic on their site.
A company representative added that Ticketmaster is not involved in ticket resales for Taylor's shows.
"While it's impossible for everyone to get tickets to these shows, we know we can do more to improve the experience and that's what we're focused on," the company statement said.
A number of people have now called on Taylor to address the issue.
One fan took to Twitter to say: "@taylorswift13 you have the power to change this!"
Another wrote: "I really Hope @taylorswift13 is taking time to address what’s happened with the ticket sales. It’s leaving a bad taste in my mouth."
"@taylorswift13 hey girl you gonna address this or," penned a third.
Another fan begged: "Please say something this is devastating to the people who have loved and supported you for over a decade and came out of this with nothing @taylorswift13 please say anything."
Taylor recently released her 10th studio album, Midnights, with its soaring popularity making her the first artist in history to claim every spot in the top 10 of the US singles chart.
The album also became Spotify's most streamed album in a single day.
Taylor's upcoming 52-date tour kicks off on March 17 in Glendale, Arizona, and wraps up with five shows in Los Angeles which end on August 9.
International dates will be announced at a later date.
