Taylor Swift has reportedly split from her long-term boyfriend Joe Alwyn, with fans convinced the heartbroken singer dropped several clues about the breakup during her Eras tour.
The singer and the British actor are said to have gone their separate ways after six years together, having struggled to make things work.
Fans now believe they have worked out the reason for the breakup after 33-year-old Taylor made a last minute switch up to her setlist.
The musician decided to include her hit song Champagne Problems, which was co-written by 32-year-old Joe.
The track tells the story of a rejected proposal and features lyrics such as: "I never was ready so I watch you go."
Fans are now speculating the song could be about Taylor and Joe's own relationship and could hint at the reason for their split.
The pair were surrounded by countless rumours they had gotten engaged throughout their relationship, after Taylor was seen with a ring on her finger back in 2020.
Taking to Twitter, one person speculated: "What if Joe asked Taylor to marry him, and she turned it down?"
Another fan wrote: "Kinda sad that taylor and joe joked about breaking up in exile and champagne problems. we should have seen it coming."
"What if champagne problems really was about her and joe ??? and so then midnight rain prob was about him too," a third person tweeted.
Taylor broke down in tears while performing Champagne Problems in Glendale, Arizona, with fans now believing her very emotional performance was related to the split.
In a TikTok video shared after the concert, the musician was seen tearing up as she played the hit song. Fans have taken to the comments section to share their thoughts.
"Now this hits different," one person wrote, with a broken heart emoji.
"OMG I JUST SAW THE NEWS I DONT BELIEVE IN LOVE ANYMORE," another fan commented. A third added: "If they really broke up, this video is so much sadder."
Taylor also made another change to her setlist as she sang The 1 for the first time ever on March 31.
Swiftie's suggested her performance of the breakup song was Taylor's way of hinting about her split from Joe.
The song replaced Invisible String, which is about soulmates who are being drawn together by fate.
"In her last show she replaced invisible string with the one… this is real," wrote a fan.
Another added: "Y'all. Swapping 'Invisible String' for 'The 1' Taylor Swift at #TheErasTour was telling us something."
Taylor is said to be doing okay following her reported split from Joe, with a source saying it was very "amicable".
"The relationship had just run its course. It's why [Joe] hasn't been spotted at any shows," the insider added, with Page Six claiming that the pair broke up "a few weeks ago."
The pair hadn't been pictured together for about five months having last been spotted together in New York in October.
