Taylor Swift fans are convinced that she’s going to play Glastonbury

Taylor Swift fans are convinced that she’s going to play GlastonburyFans of Taylor Swift are on high alert with rumours spreading on social media that she’s all set to play Glastonbury. The pop icon will be performing in London tonight and tomorrow night at Wembley as part of her European tour.

But after that, her schedule is suspiciously clear for the coming weekend - during which the UK’s most famous festival will be taking place in Somerset. Swift’s next official live date isn’t until Dublin on June 28.

The Shake It Off star, who has snubbed Manchester on her latest tour, was all set to headline the festival back in 2020, before the event was cancelled due to the pandemic, one of the few times that the event has not taken place since the 1970s.

Swift was meant to headline alongside Kendrick Lamar and Sir Paul McCartney, and while the latter two artists have since appeared on the bill - both in 2022 - Swift is yet to be rebooked.

"Tour dates has glasto written all over it, mind you said the same about Harry styles," said one fan, another adding: "Sunday night with no day off crossing between Ireland and GB? Not impossible but is it probable?"

Among those floating the possibility of an appearance are unofficial Glastonbury news account Glastofestfeed, who posted the Swift tour date schedule along with a string of speculative emojis.

Though this year’s line-up is largely sewn up, surprise acts do appear at the festival, with rumours that Pulp could be appearing this year. It’s also possible that while Swift might not be making a secret surprise appearance, she might be heading to Worthy Farm as a punter.

This year sees Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses and Elton John headlining the Pyramid Stage on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively, with other acts including Lizzo, Blondie, Cat Stevens, Lewis Capaldi, Queens of the Stone Age and Moston rapper Aitch, who plays the Pyramid Stage on Saturday afternoon.
