Taylor Swift seems to be adjusting well to her new single status and is reportedly "optimistic" about her future.
The 33-year-old was said to have split from her boyfriend of six years Joe Alwyn earlier this month after reports stated: "the relationship had run its course."
Taylor and Joe went public with their relationship in 2017 after quietly dating for a few months and fans believe that the pair met at the 2016 Met Gala.
Other sources had revealed that the breakup was caused by "differences in their personalities" and that "ultimately, they weren't the right fit for each other."
"They've had rough patches before and always worked things out, so friends thought they would take some time apart but eventually come back together," the insider told People magazine.
It was also said that Joe had struggled with Taylor's fame and that he "never liked all of the attention that came with dating one of the most popular singers in the world," according to a source in Us Weekly.
"Fame factored into the split. Joe is very shy and he just didn’t like having to be on all of the time," the source explained.
Despite the rumours around the breakup, sources have understood that Taylor is "handling the breakup really well."
“Taylor is handling the breakup really well and she’s feeling very optimistic about her future. She truly believes whatever is meant to be, will be, and knows everything happens for a reason," they said.
Taylor is also “enjoying her freedom” but still "adjusting to the single life” and isn’t ready for a new relationship just yet.
"She isn’t dating anybody and isn’t even thinking about getting into another relationship anytime soon,” the source added. "She appreciates all the love and support she’s received from family and friends and is doing great."
In her Netflix documentary titled Miss Americana, Taylor told audiences that Joe and Taylor had agreed together that they "wanted our relationship to be private."
“I was falling in love with someone who had a wonderfully normal, balanced life," she said. "We decided together we wanted our relationship to be private. I was happy.
"But I wasn’t happy in the way I was trained to be happy. It was happiness without anyone else’s input. We were just happy.”
