Taylor Swift has broken her social media silence for the first time since ‘splitting’ from Joe Alwyn to thank her fans for their support.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the hitmaker and the British actor, 32, shocked fans with the revelation they had called time on their six-year relationship.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the 33-year-old thanked her loyal fanbase, who attended her three Tampa, Florida shows, in her first post since the reports emerged.
The Grammy winner penned alongside several photos from her on stage: “Still buzzing from those 3 shows in Tampa!!!
“Thank you to the unforgettably epic crowds and to @aarondessner for coming out to play twice with me, we’ve been dreaming about that for so long!!
“So grateful for the memories we’re making on this tour.”
The pop superstar, who turned off comments on the post, received more than 5.1 million likes for her social media update. However, it should be noted that Swift has long had comments on her posts disabled.
Explaining her decision to remove the feature in 2019, Swift previously wrote in a personal essay marking her 30th birthday for ELLE that she had “learned to block some of the noise” by changing the way she uses social media, including turning off comments.
Her post comes after it emerged that she and the Conversations with Friends star had called time on their six-year relationship.
Earlier this month, it was first reported that the pair broke up several weeks ago after eagle-eyed fans noticed that Alwyn had not been seen at any of her Eras Tour shows since it began on March 18.
A source told website Entertainment Tonight that the split was amicable and “not dramatic”, adding the relationship had “just run its course”.
Music superstar Swift is believed to have met Joe in 2016 at the Met Gala in New York, and they started dating that October.
