Taylor Swift has reportedly decided to give her relationship with Matty Healy a "second chance" after they were first rumoured to be dating nine years ago.
Taylor, 33, "really likes" rocker Matty, 34, and they are "having a good time reconnecting again" according to a source.
"They’re looking to give things a second chance," the source continues to Us Weekly.
The musicians have a lot of mutual friends including Jack Antonoff - Taylor's co-writer and producer - and the pair "have been hanging out and are having fun together".
Taylor and Matty go way back and they first sparked rumours that they were dating back in November 2014 when she attended the 1975 frontman's concert in LA.
Matty later revealed that they had "swapped phone numbers" at the show during a radio interview with Australia’s Shazam Top 20.
“I mean, bloody hell, what am I going to do? Go out with Taylor Swift? She’s a sensation,” he said at the time. “I wouldn’t say no!”
The pair were later seen wearing each other's merchandise but they never confirmed their rumoured romance.
But Matty did drop hints about the one that got away over the years.
"She wasn’t a big impact on my life," he insisted to Q Magazine in 2016.
"It’s just interesting to me how interested the world is about Taylor Swift. The reason I mention that is because if I had [properly] gone out with Taylor Swift, I would’ve been, ‘F***ing hell, I am not being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.’ You know, ‘F***. That.’ That’s also a man thing, a demasculinating [sic], emasculating thing."
Just months later he called the singer the "most gracious, hard-working, creatively gifted, and beautiful women that I have had the pleasure to meet" in an interview with Elle.
He coyly added: "I personally have a lot of respect and admiration for her. Why would I not?"
Matty and Taylor are thought to have remained firm friends over the years and in January she popped up at a 1975 concert in London to perform her single 'Anti-Hero' live for the first time.
Then Matty returned the favour by showing up at two of her Eras Tour shows in Nashville earlier this month.
He swooned as he watched his rumoured girlfriend from the VIP area with Taylor's friend Gigi Hadid on Saturday night when he put his hand to hit chest and smiled up at the sky with his eyes closed, during Taylor's Nashville gig.
On Friday night he was seen performing on-stage during Taylor's tour, with the rocker playing guitar for support act Phoebe Bridgers.
Taylor's rumoured new romance comes after she split from long-time beau Joe Alwyn.
It was reported that the actor "struggled with Taylor's level of fame and the attention from the public", which is why they parted ways.
Taylor and Matty were pictured for the first time together recently, sitting next to one another in a car with tinted windows.
Arriving at Taylor's condo at 12:30am following her Nashville gig on Saturday evening the couple could be seen sat in the back of a chauffeured vehicle.
