Taylor Swift and Matty Healy reported to have broken up after whirlwind romance

Taylor Swift and Matty Healy are reported to have broken up after a whirlwind romance.

Gossip site TMZ reported on Monday evening that Taylor is “single” again, according to a friend close to the situation.

American singer-songwriter Taylor, 33, has been romantically linked to Matty Healy, 34, for a number of weeks.

Reports began to swirl after she split from her beau of six years Joe Alwyn, who she is thought to have penned the majority of her 2019 album, Lover, about.

A separate source told Entertainment Tonight: “Taylor and Matty broke up. They are both extremely busy and realized they're not really compatible with each other.

“Taylor's friends want what's best for her and aren't shocked that their relationship fizzled out since she recently got out of a long-term relationship.”

Although Taylor and Matty only recently began dating, the artists have known each other since 2014 when Taylor went to a concert for his band, The 1975.

The pair were last seen together on May 25 in New York City.

Healy has previously been in relationships with singers Halsey and FKA Twigs, separating from the latter in 2022.

Over the weekend, The 1975 frontman was pictured kissing a male security guard at band’s concert in Denmark during the performance of Robbers.

Swift is reported to have split from her ex-boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn, back in April after six years together.

Last week week, Swift released a collaboration with rapper Ice Spice on a remix of her song Karma.

It came shortly after Healy drew criticism while discussing Ice Spice’s face and body on The Adam Freidland Show, a New York-based podcast.

The rockstar has apologised since, saying that a joke he made on the show had become “misconstrued”.

“I love you, Ice Spice. I’m so sorry,” he told the audience at a concert in New Zealand.
