Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn were reportedly buying a huge £8.3 million mansion with seven bedrooms, wine cellar and staff quarters before they “split” earlier this month.
Global megastar Taylor, 33, and British actor Joe, 32, went their separate ways after six years together, according to reports in the US.
The Conversations with Friends star was believed to be the inspiration behind many of Taylor's love songs however the pair reportedly struggled to make it work.
Now, according to a source, the couple had been planning on buying and moving into a huge property in Belsize Park, North London after their offer was accepted last November.
The Sun reports that Land Registry records show it still appears to be subject to completion.
Taylor made a surprise visit to the UK in October 2022, around the same time as the offer went in on the house, to perform at a Bon Iver concert in London.
The singer graced the stage at the OVO Arena in Wembley alongside the musician, whose real name is Justin Vernon, and The National’s Aaron Dessner to perform their song “Exile”.
According to a source, neighbours were aware Taylor and Joe were buying the property but no one had actually seen them looking at it.
The luxurious property is being marketed by estate agents Savills and is described as an "exceptional period house” with an “enchanting 130ft mature garden”, which is completely fenced – perfect for privacy.
The home also comes with a wine cellar and a flat for either staff or guests.
Taylor reportedly fell in love with London after she and Joe spent most of lockdown in his flat located in Crouch End.
Fans of the former couple will now be wondering who will get it following news of their split.
Following news of the Taylor and Joe's split, it seems the change in her romantic status has impacted her set list as she continues her current Era’s World Tour - as songs have been swapped out.
Fans in the USA were surprised on Thursday night to hear the song Holy Ground where once the song Everything Has Changed was played.
According to American. news outlet Just Jared: “The song Holy Ground was used during the show on Thursday night at Raymond James Stadium in Florida.
“This is the first time that the song has been included in the show, but you’re probably wondering how it actually was used if it’s not actually on the setlist.
“In the video that plays while the stage is transitioning to the Red era, the song Everything Has Changed used to play in the background. Tampa fans were surprised by the song being replaced by Holy Ground for the transition piece.”
Originally Taylor played Everything Has Changed - a duet with Ed Sheeran about a happy relationship - but Holy Ground is believed to be about a failed romance.
One fan tweeted: “Holy Ground again in the Red opening, seems like it's a permanent change! (for now)… It was everything has changed until yesterday!”
And another noted an other change in Taylor’s performance as she changed the way she normally introduces one of her biggest love songs.
A fan noticed: ” Taylor Swift just confirmed that she's single by saying Lover is just a love song, no more sweet intros implying that that's for Joe … Ladies and gentlemen can you please stand cry with me now.”
Page Six broke the news of Taylor and Joe’s split last week, writing: "The relationship had just run its course. It's why [Alwyn] hasn't been spotted at any shows.”
Joe had previously hinted he and Taylor worked hard to keep their relationship private.
He told Vogue: "I'm aware people want to know about that side of things. I think we have been successfully very private, and that has now sunk in for people."
Meanwhile, he is believed to have helped Taylor write a number of her songs - using the pen name William Bowery, for her last three albums.
Through lyrics to her track Lavender Haze they addressed engagement rumours, writing: "All they keep asking me/ Is if I'm gonna be your bride/ The only kinda girl they see/ Is a one night or a wife."
