James Tavernier has revealed Dujon Sterling was deemed to have deliberately handled the ball in the box during Rangers vs Athletic Bilbao.
The Ibrox defender - who was later stretchered off - was penalised for a handball during a wild four-minute VAR check in the Europa League tie.
Alex Berenguer had looked to have fired Bilbao ahead as he lashed home from close range. However, he was offside meaning the goal was ruled out.
VAR officials, though, spotted a possible handball as the ball brushed off the arm of Sterling in the box as it fell to Berenguer.
Kovacs was called ot the monitor to review the incident and decided a penalty should be awarded.

"I don't know what the game is coming to, the sending off, that penalty..."
After the match, Rangers captain Tavernier revealed it was deemed the handball was deliberate from Sterling.
He said: "I thought it was a little bit harsh because they said it was a deliberate handball by Dujon. I didn't think it was.
