Tattoo-covered mum unemployed for eight months can't get job with extreme ink

A tattoo addicted mum has been unable to get a job for eight months due to the extreme ink all over her body.

Melissa Sloan is covered head to toe in colourful body art and believes employers find it unprofessional, which is why she has not yet received any job offers.

The mum-of-seven even has her entire face tattooed and got a new addition of a Playboy bunny recently, according to The Sun.

Her collection or artwork includes depictions of the Kray twins and marijuana leaves. She has admitted to getting several new tattoos done each week.

As reported in the Mirror, the 46-year-old, from Knighton, Wales, is desperate to find a job so she can provide for her seven children.

She previously applied for a cleaning job but was rejected due to her tattoos and has now said she is willing to take on any position after searching for ‘months and months and months’ to no avail.

Melissa is now considering having her facial tattoos lasered off as she is yet to receive a single job offer.
She said: "I've got kids to provide for so I might have to have my tattoos removed, then I may finally be able to land a role."

Currently on Income Support and suffering from depression, Melissa has said she is eligible to have laser treatment for free.

She said: "I've been offered the procedures on my face and neck on the NHS. But I'm reluctant as my tattoos are part of me and I've heard rumours that it can make you all wrinkly and it is painful.

"However, if I've got to do it to find work, then I will. I will have all of my tattoos completely removed from my face and neck if I have to."

The mother of seven, whose two youngest children are aged under 10, said that she wants to prove her doubters wrong, and that she receives different treatment depending on whether she has covered her tattoos or not.

She said: "I think people assume I'm unprofessional. I constantly get unwanted attention and nasty remarks. But when I go out wearing a wig with make-up covering my tattoos, people treat me normally.”
