The One Day Cup clash between Tasmania and Queensland at Junction Oval has been washed out with only 16 overs bowled.

Queensland were in trouble at 5-128 before the game was called off for good.

Matt Renshaw (51 off 36 balls) and Lachlan Hearne (35 off 28) posted handy knocks for the Bulls, but Ben McDermott (1), Max Bryant (6) and Jack Wildermuth (8) all fell cheaply, reducing Queensland to 5-110.

Hugo Burdon (11no) and Jack Clayton (9no) set about launching a recovery mission before the game was called off.

Tasmania paceman Gabe Bell had figures of 2-12 from three overs, while Beau Webster finished with 2-27.

The Tigers now have a loss and a no-result to their name from two games, while Wednesday's clash was Queensland's first match of the competition.

The One Day Cup continues on Thursday when NSW host South Australia at Sydney Olympic Park, before Victoria host Queensland on Friday.
