A task force led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) is currently investigating the cause of the deadly Palisades Fire in Los Angeles. Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell mentioned that the investigation is ongoing and details regarding the cause of the fire cannot be disclosed until the investigation is complete.
Chief McDonnell emphasized that specific information about the cause of the Palisades Fire will only be shared once the ATF investigation concludes. The inquiry is not limited to this particular fire, as the task force is also examining the cause and point of origin of other fires in the area.
In addition to the ATF, the task force is collaborating with the LAPD's Major Crimes Division, portions of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and the FBI.
