Tasha secretly almost quit Love Island with Andrew after being 'backed into a corner'

Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri admits she was ready to leave the villa after her shocking treatment on the Movie Night and Snog, Marry, Pie challenges.

She found love with Andrew Le Page and made it all the way to the final, but now Tasha reveals she was ready to leave the show much sooner.

The 24-year-old was subject to vile comments after being pied in the face by three of boys in one of the tasks, sparking more than 1,500 Ofcom complaints.

It had followed 351 complaints the day before after Tasha was left in tears because of comments made during the Suck and Blow game.

At the time, a spokesperson for Ofcom said: "On July 19 the majority of complaints were about alleged misogynistic behaviour from the male islanders towards the female islanders, including in the aftermath of the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge.

"On July 18 the majority of complaints were about alleged misogynistic and bullying behaviour of contestants."

During the pie challenge, Tasha was targeted by male contestants Dami Hope, Luca Bish and winner Davide Sanclimenti.

Dami and Luca also branded Tasha fake and “a game player”. Davide explained he pied Tasha because she had previously called him and partner Ekinsu Cülcüloğlu the "fakest couple".

After the ill-treatment, Tasha told producers she was going to leave the show – and Andrew was going with her, The Sun have revealed.

"I knew I was gonna get pies,” she told the outlet. “I was ready for it, but it was more about the comments after that…There’s a level of banter and there’s [that].

“I was standing there thinking: ‘Keep your head held high and don’t show a reaction.’ There’s a clip and you can still see it in my face [how upset I was].

“It was a lot - I felt backed into a corner. It’s such an intense environment and hard to escape. You’re stuck in there together. I was ready to walk out.”

Tasha now says she wishes she had put her foot down a bit more, admitting she was an “emotional person” and that she wears her heart on her sleeve.

She believes her regular break-downs were why she got so much hate from both fellow islanders and viewers watching the series.

Dami and Luca have both apologised to Tasha in one-on-one conversations, although cynical fans believe they were told to by producers – Tasha is just seemingly happy they can move on.

“A lot had happened in the space of three days and a lot of it was targeted at me. I was upset,” she told The Sun. “I did kind of walk out.

“I said [to producers]: ‘I’ve had enough.’ Andrew said: ‘I’m gonna go with you.’ Then all of a sudden the boys apologised…It was a bittersweet moment.

“I’m a very forgiving person. I didn’t want to live the rest of the weeks in a negative way. I forgive, but I don’t forget.”
