A fully loaded lorry left Perthshire on Wednesday full of items to help people in Ukraine.
This dispatch from TASH4Ukraine’s Errol HQ was extra special because on board the HGV was a forklift truck which the charity had successfully bid for at auction. A machine like this was urgently needed at the Ukraine aid depot.
Part of the £3500 purchase cost was met by donations from the public at Perth Show, when kids were able to climb aboard and sign their names on the yellow paintwork.
Wednesday’s departing lorry also contained medical equipment, medicine, food and much-needed winter clothes with a value of over £50,000.
Hospital beds to assist people injured in the war were also part of the humanitarian cargo.
The delivery is going to the depot at Folkowisko Foundation, Kosciuszki, Poland for onward transmission to Ukraine.
At last count the Perthshire volunteers in Errol, led by Kenny Simpson, had unstintingly collected, sorted and
loaded aid with a monetary value of over £600,000, weighing approximately 560 tonnes.
