Tarik Cohen had hilarious reaction after Bears released him

The Chicago Bears have made some big moves over the last couple of days with an eye toward the future. Running back Tarik Cohen became Chicago’s first salary cap casualty of the offseason.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cohen was released with an injury designation as he wasn’t able to pass a physical. Just after signing a three-year extension worth $17.25 million, Cohen suffered a torn ACL in Week 3 of the 2020 season. Cohen hasn’t played a game since.

Shortly after the news of Cohen’s release made the rounds, Cohen took to Twitter to seemingly confirm that he’d been cut. Only, he did it in his own, hilarious way.

“How do I file for unemployment? 🥴

Cohen was one of former GM Ryan Pace’s late-round gems that became an impact player — both on offense and special teams. Unfortunately, his inability to get back on the field marks the end of his tenure in Chicago. The hope is he’ll be able to get healthy and find a new home.

But Cohen’s release isn’t surprising and rather necessary as a new regime takes over and begins to build the roster for the future.
