A taste of Spain is arriving at the Metrocentre as a new restaurant called Tapas Revolution gets set to open its doors to diners.
But those keen to try before they buy will be able to enjoy free dishes from a special pop-up van outside of the Gateshead shopping centre this weekend.
The pop-up tapas van will be located outside of the Yellow Mall entrance until Sunday, November 6, offering tasty nibbles including calamari, patatas bravas, chorizo and churros. Shoppers will be able to stop by to try out the food from 12pm to 3pm and 5pm to 8pm each day.
Tapas Revolution will open in the Metrocentre on Saturday, November 19, becoming the eleventh branch of the chain in the UK. Founded by Spanish celebrity chef Omar Allibhoy Cuende in 2010, diners can expect to enjoy the ambience and flavours of a traditional Spanish tapas bar.
Alongside the traditional tapas favorites, paellas will take centre stage, with a range of larger sharing plates and main courses, including 12-hour slow-roasted Iberian pork shank, also on offer.
James Picton, managing director of Tapas Revolution, said: “We are incredibly proud and excited to continue to grow our Tapas Revolution portfolio with the launch of our Metrocentre bar and restaurant and can’t wait to give the people of the North East a taster this weekend of what’s to come.”
